Thomas Schelling<\/a> was an American economist, who won the 2005 Nobel prize in Economic Sciences for “having enhanced our understanding of conflict and cooperation through game theory\u00a0analysis”. He is well-known for his model of segregation<\/a>, which proved that slight preferences for living among similar neighbours can lead to a highly segregated society. In his original model, agents of 2 colours have to find a good spot on a grid, by measuring their similarity with adjacent cells, and moving if it is insufficient. In this implementation, you can modify the desired similarity rate, the number of different colours, and various parameters, and observe the emergence of segregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
